Respect Pronouns

Today I experienced gender eurphoria when my new boss called me “he” in front of coworkers.  It was the best! I came out as transgender while working at my last job, and while people were supportive, pronouns were difficult.  I understand, it’s still hard to make the change with my family as well, so as long as people aren’t trying to be disrepectful I let it go.   That being said, being gendered properly as “he/him” makes me and lots of other trans men beyond happy.  So of course I wrote a poem.

A recent study of mutliple countries showed that 3 out of 5 people would intentionally misgender a trans person out of direspect.  I won’t go into much here, calling it despicable pretty much sums it up.  Let’s just try to be more respectful of everyone, especially minorites that are currently under attack by their own government. Pronouns matter.  Intention matters.  Kindness matters. Love matters.
